Flying to Portland

The closest major airport to Stevenson, Washington, and Skamania Lodge is Portland International Airport, which is 42 miles to the west of Stevenson. Portland International Airport is a major hub of travel, including international travel, and is serviced by almost all major airlines.

If you have extra time, the MAX Red Line goes from the airport to downtown Portland, passing near Powell's City of Books, Voodoo Doughnut, Chinatown, and Pioneer Square, as well as museums and parks. Plan on traveling about an hour each way.

Sirens Shuttle

Because of Skamania's location, it can be difficult to arrange transportation from the airport to the resort. You could rent a car, but perhaps you'd like to admire the spectacular Columbia River Gorge scenery along the way. We can help!

As in past years, Sirens will offer the Sirens Shuttle, a charter bus that will leave Portland International Airport in the afternoon on both Wednesday, October 10 and Thursday, October 11, and will return to the airport in the morning on Sunday, October 14. The ride will travel along the Columbia River Gorge Scenic Highway east of Portland, so you may want to bring your camera. We are still finalizing costs and schedules, so please check back for more information in 2012.

There is no direct rail service to Stevenson, Washington, but Amtrak does serve Portland on both the Coast Starlight and Empire Builder routes.

While Greyhound does not serve Stevenson, Washington, it does serve Portland and certain other stops near the Columbia River Gorge.

Please note that neither the Amtrak station nor the Greyhound terminal in Portland is near Portland International Airport. Both stop at Portland Union Station, and from there, you may transfer by taxi or via the MAX trains or public buses. TriMet has tools for planning your route and fare information.

This route is slightly longer, but less winding, and takes you past Multnomah Falls. Note that the Bridge of the Gods is a toll bridge; at the time of this writing, cars cost $1.
