Sirens's programming will be announced in summer 2012, following the conclusion of our submission and review process. The depth and breadth of our programming schedule is limited only by the depth and breadth of women in fantasy literature and the specific topics that our attendees choose to submit. We encourage all attendees and potential attendees, regardless of background, to prepare programming proposals on any topic related to women in fantasy literature; women authors and their works; women in publishing; women as readers and fans; or women characters in fantasy works. (We will consider additional topics as well; please see our Call for Proposals for more information about the scope and focus of Sirens.) No qualifications are required to submit presentations for consideration, except that all presenters must be old enough to attend Sirens. As we draw our programming process from an academic model, our vetting board will review all submissions and select those that will be included in programming for Sirens. Please note that all programming topics for Sirens are submitted by our attendees for our attendees. If you are interested in seeing a topic discussed at Sirens, whether that is a dialogue about women authors who retell tales, an overview of 1980s fantasy works by women, a discussion of female characters in a favorite fantasy series, or something else, we hope you will consider submitting a proposal. We will be accepting proposals until May 6, 2012. Please see our programming section for more information, including submissions guidelines and vetting board biographies. If you have any questions or concerns about that process, please contact us at (programming at sirensconference.org). As presentations are accepted and presenters register in summer of 2012, accepted proposals will be posted on this page. This is not an automatic process; the programming team and editor review batches approximately every two weeks, so presenters who have been accepted and who have recently registered may not yet be reflected on this page. Until presentations are published, you may wish to view the 2009, 2010, and 2011 archive pages. A preliminary schedule can be found on the schedule page. Please write to (programming at sirensconference.org) with any questions or concerns. |
